What will you experience?
A short meditation followed by a writing reflection, inviting you to let go of the to-do list and begin tuning into Spirit, your body and the creative energy available to you in the moment. This is a great way to transition from busy life to creative time.
A creativity share
Julie shares her own experience of creating, stretching the comfort zone, letting go of preconceptions, enjoying both meaning making and irreverence.
A solid 90+ minutes of painting time on your own. Some people paint within view of the video camera, others prefer to turn off the camera and/or create in another room — your choice.
We will have two pre-scheduled check-ins as a group and you will be invited to share what is happening for you as you paint or simply listen to others share what is happening for them. This creates a sense of belonging and tribe and is a lot of fun.
Safe and sacred space is the secret sauce of this class.
No one will tell you they like your painting. No one will tell you they don’t like your painting. And you will not be given technical advice or feedback on your painting. This is a judgment free zone and celebrates the creative process itself over the end product or painting.
You can use whatever materials sing for you. Some people in the group are using acrylic paints, others watercolor or oil. Some people use this time to draw in their journals, others playing with pastels. The fact that we are all in our own studios makes this possible. It is exciting to witness how others use materials.
We meet on Zoom. You will receive the link to class when you sign up below. All you do is click the link and you will go to the video meeting. No password or login needed. You will receive everything you need to know about joining us once you sign up below. You will need internet and a camera on your device– like your laptop, ipad, or smartphone.
“I love the flow of (the class. I love the way Julie trusts what is important to bring to the class that day, a word, a reading, etc. It allows us to trust the same creative serendipitous process”
